Motion Day, Friday, 9:30 a.m., and Mon. - Thurs., 9:30 - 4:30, by Duty Judge on motions set with agree- ment of all parties on a regularly scheduled basis, or by appointment for emergency or ex parte matters. Grand Juries, 1st Mon. of each month unless holiday, then next day. All civil cases filed after Jan. 1, 1992 are set in accordance with delay reduction program as established by the Court. Criminal cases set by Commonwealth Attorney with agreement of defense counsel in accordance with local rules. Misdemeanor and traffic infraction appeals set by district court for Thursdays. Court convenes 9:30 a.m. Commissioners in Chancery are utilized in general chancery causes, including divorce Local rules adopted pursuant to § 8.01-4.

Land Records Information

Land records from 1691 through December, 1981 are maintained in books. Deeds and other documents are indexed on computer from January, 1990. Land records are currently accessed by microfilm, from December, 1981 to present. Contact the Clerk for more information.
