Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission
Online PEO Registration and Reporting
- register with the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission (the Commission);
- annually report their client lists and related insurance information to the Commission;
- notify the Commission of changes in client company status, insurance coverage, and identifying information; and
- pay an annual assessment as calculated by the Commission
The Commission has promulgated regulations to implement that law which directs PEO’s to make those filings electronically. The Commission partnered with Virginia Interactive (VI) to create an Internet-based registration and reporting system.
In order to access the online PEO service and to properly register with the Commission must:
First, become a subscriber to VI’s premium services by:
- Completing the Premium Service Subscription Agreement and accompanying addendum and
- Paying an annual VI fee of $1,000.00.
The $1,000.00 fee includes VI’s annual subscription fee of $95.00 and covers the cost of one (1) user login name, one (1) PIN number, and one (1) security key fob device. (The key fob generates a unique password number that an authorized user must enter in order to access online PEO registration and reporting.) The remainder of the VI fee helps VI recoup the expenses incurred in developing, designing, and maintaining online PEO registration and reporting system. Additional user login names, PIN numbers, and key fobs may be purchased for $105.00 per user (a new key fob must be purchased every four years).
As a self-funded state agency and pursuant to statutory and regulatory authority, the Commission will impose its own fees and/or annual assessments on PEOs.
