ALBERTIS S. HARRISON, JR. (1907-1995)
Served 1962-1966, Democrat

Governor Harrison served as Brunswick County Commonwealth's Attorney and as Attorney General before becoming Governor. Harrison focused on industrial development and diversification, built new post-secondary technical schools, expanded branch colleges, modernized highways and promoted tourism. He later served on the Virginia Supreme Court and chaired the Commission on Constitutional Revision.
