Collection error, when vspider tried to read the collection to get a list of the documents in the collection. Try to repair the collection.
3000 Metacollection name %s doesn't end in .clm
GUI indexer error regarding the explicit path you entered for the name of the collection. Try submitting the task again, entering the name with the .clm extension.
3001 Metacollection directory %s is a file
The collname.clm name you specified for the collection, in the GUI indexer, is invalid because a file already exists named collname. Either delete the file collname, or specify a different collection name.
3002 Metacollection %s is malformed or nonexistent
Information message. The collection does not exist.
3003 Can't create metacollection without meta-style-directory
Missing -style value or the value given is not a metastyle. Try again with a valid metastyle value for -style.
3004 Meta-style-directory %s isn't a directory
The value given for -style is not a valid directory.

Information message during indexing. The threshold for the number of documents in the queue has been reached. Gatherers will be paused until the indexers have caught up.

Information message which only appears with -restart and -refresh when you do not specify anything for any of the required secondary options.

Information message.
12206 Vspider persistent storage is not closed properly for %d time(s). You might want to use -restart to restart the interrupted job, or use -resync to clean up Vspider persistent storage.
Information message. Check the log file for the indexing job. Typically, you will find documents, also called keys, in a state other than done. Run an indexing job on the collection with -restart.
20000 Skipping key %s because of %s
You cannot index the document noted. The reason is given in the message. Typical reasons a document, or key, is skipped are: it is outside the scope of your indexing license, it meets the exclusion parameters or fails to meet the inclusion parameters.
21000 Skipping file %s: Permission Denied
Information message. You do not have the necessary privileges to access the specified file.
21001 Skipping file %s: No more file handles available
Operating system error. You do not have enough resources to continue processing. Try restarting your server to regain system resources.
21002 Skipping file %s: (errorcode=%d)
Operating system error. Refer to your operating system documentation to see how to respond to the error code provided.

Information message. The spider found the robots.txt file on the host noted in the message.

The URLs specified cannot be indexed with the values given in your authfile. Verify the login name and password entries for the URLs in question.

The web server you are attempting to index is asking for a higher level of authentication than the Basic scheme. vspider only supports the Basic authentication scheme.

An authfile could not be found. You must create an authfile with valid login and password values.

The document %s cannot be retrieved as it is disallowed by the host's robots.txt file.

The specified URL could not be indexed, indicating a broken link. The document referring that URL is listed. You can search for this error in your indexing logs to find documents with broken links.

Network error. The specified server is not responding and may be down.
