Stafford County citizens have the convenient option of paying real estate, personal property taxes and utility bills in only a few minutes.  The online payment process is simplified by using step-by-step instructions, sample bills and simple directions.

Description:

The Stafford County’s Treasurer’s Office has implemented a secure, online credit card payment system which significantly reduces the time it takes staff to complete the one million plus transactions they process each year. Citizens simply access the Treasurer’s home page from the dropdown menu on the Stafford County website at www.co.stafford.va.us, and choose the correct payment category.

Virginia Interactive has worked closely with the Treasurer’s Office to integrate with the County’s applications and backend environments as well as providing them with robust reporting tools.

• Time 
  Improved Customer Service - The Treasurer’s Office has significantly reduced the time it takes their staff to complete the million plus transactions processed yearly. The vast majority of these transactions occur in the last week before taxes are due. Since online transactions are posted on the next business day, citizens can be assured their taxes have been paid on time, rather than worrying if their payments will be delayed in the mail. Paying online saves a drive to the Treasurer’s Office and waiting in line to pay at the counter.

  Saves Citizens Money - Making an online payment saves money – whether the cost of a postage stamp to mail a payment or the gas needed to travel to the Treasurer’s Office counter.

  Saves Paper - Citizens greatly reduce paper by paying via the web.  If the estimated 120,000 Stafford County Citizens chose to make their payments online, an estimated 172 trees could be saved.
