Progressing into the Future with PODs - Print on Demand System for Temporary Vehicle Tags
Virginia Interactive’s revolutionary Print on Demand system (“PODs”) is a secure web-based service that automates vehicle and owner information input and verification resulting in a temporary vehicle tag issued at the point of sale without special equipment or materials. PODs electronically generates a 30-day temporary tag designed to be printed on standard white office paper and slipped into a weatherproof plastic sleeve or “Tag Bag” that attaches to an owner’s newly purchased vehicle.
Innovation Factors:
- Free to use - dealerships are billed monthly only for issued tags at the normal statutory fee
- Tracks tag transactions by dealership and system user
- Eliminates manual reconciliation between pre-printed cardboard tags and log books – and trips to DMV’s Customer Service Centers
