State Corporation Commission

The State Corporation Commission (SCC) has regulatory authority over utilities, insurance, state-chartered financial institutions, securities, retail franchising and railroads.

Agency Info

The SCC regulates companies licensed to sell money orders or transmit funds by wire or other electronic means in Virginia. For money orders or transmitters, the SCC also requires a Transaction Report of Money Order Sellers and Money Transmitters by the respective companies.
