A public service of the Commonwealth, Virginia Relay enables persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking to communicate with standard telephone users. Their conversation is relayed between the two parties by a specially trained Virginia Relay Communications Assistant. Relay services are available 24/7/365 with no limit on the number or length of calls a user can make. By law, every call is handled with the strictest confidentiality. Anyone can initiate a Virginia Relay call by simply dialing 7-1-1.
