Since 1988, the Virginia Lottery has been delivering a diverse lineup of games to delight Virginia adults and support Virginia’s K-12 public schools. All Lottery profits are used to support K-12 public education in Virginia, and, since 1999, the Lottery has contributed over $11 billion to Virginia’s K-12 public schools.
The agency offers Scratchers, draw games, Print ‘n Play games and online instant games. But the Lottery is more than its games. The agency also celebrates students with its Thank a Teacher Art Contest and recognizes teachers with its Thank a Teacher campaign. You can find Lottery employees at retail stores and community events across Virginia. The agency prides itself on community engagement and celebrating diversity.
As the Lottery looks at the present and toward the future, the agency’s goals are these: to deliver the best possible games for players, to strengthen existing and form new bonds with its retailer partners and to continue to build the best workforce possible. Those goals are all in service of the Lottery’s mission, which is to contribute as much as possible to K-12 public education in Virginia.
